What to have ready when requesting a temporary fencing quote

A good quote depends on good information. The more you can tell us up front, the fewer back-and-forth questions there are and the more accurate your quote will be. Here’s what helps most.

1. Site location

The suburb at minimum, and ideally the full street address. Location affects transport, timing and whether we can supply the site at all. Include any access notes:

  • Narrow streets, steep driveways or no on-street parking
  • Delivery time windows or loading restrictions
  • Gate codes or a site contact to call on arrival

2. Hire start date

When do you need the fence in place? If the date depends on something else, such as a slab pour or council approval, give us your best estimate and let us know it may change.

3. Hire duration

Roughly how long you’ll need the fence: a few days, a few weeks or several months. Hire is charged by the week, so even an estimate helps. Extensions can be arranged if the job runs over.

4. Project type

Construction, civil works, an event, a residential job or something else. Each one comes with different typical layouts and requirements, so this helps us ask the right questions.

5. Approximate fence length or panel count

Metres of fence line, or a panel count if you already know it. Each of our panels is 2.4 m wide, so divide the length in metres by 2.4 and round up. If you’re unsure, see how many panels do I need?, or send a sketch or site plan with the fence line marked.

6. Delivery, installation and collection

Let us know whether you need the fence delivered and installed, delivered only, or something else. These services are quoted separately from the panel hire, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.

7. Anything unusual about the site

  • Sloping or uneven ground, sand or soft ground
  • Exposed or windy positions
  • Shade cloth, signage or banners to be attached
  • Where people or vehicles need to get through the fence
  • Site requirements from your principal contractor, venue or council
